Jenny Tavares

Jenny Y.R. Tavares, 79, of Waimea, died Feb. 17, 2020 at North Hawaii community Hospital. Born July 12, 1940 in Waimea, she was a homemaker.

Friends may call at 11 a.m. March 22 at Spencer Beach Park big pavilion for a celebration of life. Lunch to follow.

She is survived by sons, Richard (Shirley) Tavares Sr. of Hilo, Daniel (Christy) Brodbeck of Arizona; daughters, Lee (Robert Kealoha) Tavares of Texas, Leean (Jerry Ontiveros) Tavares of Waimea; sister, Alice Park of Honolulu; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; numerous cousins.

Wayne Cazimero

Wayne M. Cazimero, 61, of Kailua-Kona, died Dec. 25, 2019. He was born in Hawaii.

He is survived by wife, Matilda Cazimero; daughters, Tessi (Ryan) Joaquin and Charissa Cazimero; sons, JR (Nahe Nobriga) Henriques, Kahikina Cazimero, and Charleston Cazimero; mother, Patsy Aki; sister, Char Cazimero-Velasco; a niece; numberous aunties, uncles and cousins.

Helen Shimizu

Helen Hazue Shimizu, 89, of Hilo, died Feb. 23, 2020 at her residence. Born Feb. 2, 1931, in Kailua-Kona, she was a former accounts payable clerk at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and retired from Al’s Home and Farm Supply as a bookkeeper, and a member of the Komohana Kumiai.

Private services held. No flowers. No koden (monetary offerings).

She is survived daughters, Lindy (Steve) Belcher of Washington state and Renee (Tom) Stoner of Colorado; son, Marty (Donna) Shimizu of Hilo; brother, Herbert Yamanaka of Oregon; sisters, Elsie Franca of California, Annie Tanaka of Kohala and Lorraine (Mel) Kunishima of Honolulu; hanai daughter, Elverta (Dan) Yoshida of Kona; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Patrick Ferreira

Patrick Albert Ferreira, 50, of Santa Rosa, California, died March 3, 2020, at his residence. He was born in Hilo.

A celebration of life was held for him in Petaluma, California and will also be held in Hilo at a later date.

He is survived by son, Tyler Ferreira of Lethbridge, Canada; daughter, Jada Ferreira of Lethbridge, Canada; brothers, Arnold (Sarah Linfoot) Ferreira of Joseph, Oregon, Carl (Ellen Bugalski) Ferreira of Bakersfield, California; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Naomi Sakaguchi

Naomi Sakaguchi, 64, of Hilo died Feb. 15, 2020 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama. She was born in Saitama, Japan, in March 1955.

Private services held. Family requests no Koden.

She is survived by husband, Roy Sakaguchi; sister, Yvonne (Carl) Kuwada; brother, Roy (Paula) Hatanaka; numerous nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces.
